For a little background information, Peanut the Squirrel was a male eastern, gray squirrel, found and rescued by Mark Longo in 2017. The squirrel became popularly known and soon became Instagram famous. According to state laws, New York does not allow wild animals to live indoors with an unlicensed resident, in which Longo was currently trying to obtain one when the authorities took Peanut and Fred.
On October 30, Longo announced that officials raided his home and seized Peanut, along with a raccoon that he also cared for named Fred. Both Peanut the Squirrel and the raccoon named Fred were later euthanized by the DEC to be tested for rabies after Peanut bit someone involved in the investigation, according to Associated Press (AP News).@peanut_the_squirrel12 @Pnuts Freedom Farm #fyp #fypp #tiktok #fpy #justiceforpeanut #foryourpage #viral #foryou ♬ See You Again (feat. Later on, Keasler announced to the public that she had no involvement in the case during an appearance with her attorney, Bill Price, on the iHeart podcast.
Someone claimed that Keasler allegedly admitted to reporting Peanut in a TikTok that is now deleted and unavailable. Following this, fans of Peanut the Squirrel have been sending death threats to a different Monica. Apparently, there is a woman named Monica Kessler that was mistaken for Keasler and responded to TikTok's mean comments in a video saying, "What up TikTok, it's the most hated girl on the internet for all the wrong reasons. [I do not have] the same last name. If you open a video, and you're going to comment anything hateful, it takes two seconds to see many many people have commented saying it's not me," Kessler said in the TikTok. (Latin Times)

As time passes, Mark Longo along with friends, family, and fans mourn the loss of internet famous, Peanut the Squirrel.
UPDATE: Remember the woman identified as the person who reported Peanut the Rescue Squirrel? It turns out she is innocent. An open records request proves Monica Keasler wasn't the person who turned Peanut into authorities. Please help me clear her name by sharing this... pic.twitter.com/EHkojK6vW9
