“Walmart Becomes Latest—and Biggest—Company to Roll Back Its DEI Policies”

Reported by U.S. News, Walmart, the world’s largest retailer in the world, is rolling back its’ diversity equity and inclusion policies, joining a growing list of major corporations that have done the same after coming under attack by conservative activists.

This change will mean that upon race and gender, Walmart will deny giving priority treatment to suppliers. These changes were recorded this previous Monday, on the 18th, which established the removal of a multitude of things, all from not renewing a five-year commitment for a quite racial center set up in 202 after the police killing of George Floyd, to pulling out a prominent gay rights index.

Walmart confirmed to The Associated Press that considering race and gender as a litmus test to improved diversity when it offers supplier contracts does not give any quotas and its therefore, unnecessary. Walmart also says that it will be better to monitor its third-party market place items to ensure that they don’t feature sexual and transgender products aimed at minors.

These changes come soon after an election win by former President Donald trump, in which the company has stated, “We’ve been on a journey and know we aren’t perfect, but every decision comes from a place of wanting to foster a sense of belonging, to open doors to opportunities for all our associates, customers and suppliers and to be a Walmart for everyone.”
